Great, Great, Great

I jumped on the pour-over bandwagon years ago but, frankly, the pour-over movement has become pretentious and silly. I don't have time--nor do I care to--weigh hot water on a tared-out scale (and not just any scale; must be the "right" one). I don't want to be lectured for grinding the beans 45 seconds before infusing them (instead of 41 seconds!). I just want to make a great cup of coffee at home, without expensive equipment. In that quest, I own or have owned a Chemex, Melitta cone, Hario Woodneck, and a couple of press pots. I could make great coffee in each of them, but inconsistently. I never knew what I was going to get in response to a minute change (What if the water didn't exactly make it to 204 degrees? What if the grinder was just a little off? What if an errant air bubble prevented a tiny bit of coffee from being saturated?)Enter the Clever. This is really easy: Flush paper filter, warm dripper (and mug), add coffee (standard drip grind works well enough--or maybe a tad coarser), add water, cover, stir after 90 seconds,re-cover, drain coffee into mug at 4-minute mark, say "yum."As others have written, the result is a smooth, full-bodied cup and really easy clean-up (try cleaning a Woodneck--ugh).I'm sold. Well, until the next best thing comes along.

Just got my "clever coffee dripper" and have made two cups of coffee with it, per the instructions. The entire process takes about 5 minutes if the coffee is already ground. The longest part is letting the coffee steep in the dripper while you prepare your breakfast. After 4 minutes, you sit the filled dripper onto your cup and let it drain. It did seem better than my usual Melita drip cup and it was very easy to clean when I was finished with it. Put a drop of soap in the dripper and fill with warm water and let is sit for a few minutes. Lift it and push up the bottom and out runs the soapy water which cleans the whole system in 5 seconds. Then rinse a few times and put upside down to let it dry. Very pleased with it so far.

Excellent, Well-Designed Product. Works GREAT!

Why nobody came up with this coffee brewer design before Sweet Maria's, I'll never know. But I'm sure glad I found out about this one. Works, in theory, like a french press but makes a FAR cleaner cup of coffee. Easier to clean, excellent to take travelling, camping, or just relaxing at home. You will not be disappointed.
