The Clever Coffee Dripper combines the best features of French Press and filter drip brewing, eliminating the drawbacks of each. By adding a stopper to a filtercone, the Clever Coffee Dripper combines control over steeping time with a sediment free cup.The dripper will fit on cups and thermoses with tops wider than 1.5" and less than 3.75" in diameter. Cleaning the Clever Coffee Dripper is ver easy. Just dispose of the used grounds and filter and rinse. Do not allow residue to build up in the filter. Lightly scrub the cone with very hot water and a sponge or brush, taking care to clean shut off mechanism lightly from the top. If necessary, use a detergent-free cleaner designed for carafes and filtercones.

The new Clever Coffee Dripper really makes a great cup of coffee easier. By integrating the "stopper" to allow the grounds to steep (in a manner very similar to a french press) and it reduces the need for a perfect pour pattern (though decent technique will yield a higher quality cup). While I usually pair it with a reusable filter, I feel like the better quality paper filters reduce in-cup sediment to near zero without sacrificing flavor and making clean up a breeze.

Don't do what I did and order a #4 steel mesh permanent filter to go with this dripper. It only sort of fits. Order the regular size instead. Or if you intend to use paper filters, it's probably fine.

I like pour-over, manual drip for the convenience but with traditional pour-over coffee cones, the water drains right through the coffee grounds before picking up much flavor. A press-pot solves that problem but is not nearly as convenient as a pour-over cone. The Clever Coffee Dripper is both convenient and delivers great coffee. The grounds have time to steep in the hot water and the coffee is easy to drain off into a mug or thermos. Plus, the spent grounds can easily be disposed off like any pour-over cone.
